New member - Canton, Oh - My 2182

729-1032, -0166, -0169 & -0170 look like the same connectors my 1965 Ford F100 uses on its steering column for signal, brake and horn.

    mod 70 1963 my way

Only a farm boy would know what calf scours look like. Probably a dairy farm? Your comment brought back memories.

    Question on generic 2284 carb

My only other thought would be that it might be a vacuum port. If it doesn't pull vacuum at idle, then it could be ported which means it only builds vacuum when the engine is at part throttle. You could try hooking a vacuum gauge up to it. If no vacuum at idle, run at a steady state part...

    Why won't my tractor run??????

Guys, if you re-read Benjamin's original post, he states that he has disconnected the gas, I assume from the carburetor. If this is truly the case, then I fail to see how the carb could be flooding. Ben, have you removed the gas line from the carb completely or did you just close the valve...

Seized rear wheel on Cub Cadet 1330

I had the same problem on a Simplicity 4108 that I still have. I ended up drilling three holes in the wheel to allow me to use a puller. Once I got the puller set up and preloaded, I heated the hub with an acetylene torch. Had to do this on both sides. Destroyed the wheels but didn't have...

I added another, but she aint a cub

Having grown up on a farm with a Ford 8N, NAA and a 961, I have a soft spot for those old Fords. Would love to have an NAA or 961 again just to play with.

    On the fence Cub Fan

If the flywheel and PTO are turning, then the crank is turning. What makes you think that the piston isn't moving up & down? Have you pulled the head off to confirm this? You can't pull the spark plug to check as the plug hole does not give access to the piston, only the top of the block.

    Model 149 with a 44” mowing deck

Where did you get a maximum of 4.5" lift height? I have the original paper manual for the 44C deck that came on my 1973 129. It specifically states a range of 1.0" to 4.0" cutting height, depending on tires and mower combination. This also agrees with the pdf versions found on this site.

Alternatively, the cast in gear could be machined out and a new steel gear pressed in.

    Cub Cadet 129

I did the same thing. I had a 129 and traded a friend some narrow frame cub parts for a 1450 roller. Swapped over the hydraulics, converted engine over to newer style AQS starter and charge system. Much better than the starter generator. I also converted the FNR lever over to the new QL version.

    1650 hydraulic questions

Just so you're not tied to only Parker as a supplier, here's a cross reference chart. Aeroquip is now Danfoss, formerly Eaton. Danfoss parts are readily available online as well. The local supplier, to me anyway, can get any of these within a day or so if they don't have in stock.

    1650 hydraulic questions

These are standard hydraulic quick couplers. As Matt said, should be able to find them anywhere. Your local hydraulic shop should have them or be able to order them.

    Transmission test

I was thinking the same thing. I've used a drill before on the pump and it works. The drill I used did not spin very fast. It was an old Craftsman 1/2" drill, probably at least 30 years old. It did spin fast enough for me to be able to check the fwd/rev and the hydraulics though.

    Dragged nother 1 in.

I've been outdone. My first set of Craftsman tools are only 40 years old. Although I do have a Fluke multimeter that over 35 years old and still going strong.

    44A deck pulley issue

Your video shows that the pulley has play on the shaft without the nut. Does the pulley have play when the nut is tightened to the proper torque?
  19. D

    Still having trouble

What Bruce said. If the pulley is at the highest position, it prevents the latch from allowing the pins to engage. In other words, it keeps the latch in the locked position. I ran into this the first time I mounted my blower.

    Cub prices

800 psi is actually a pretty low pressure for a hydraulic system. I've worked on hydraulic systems for over 25 years and the typical steer pressure on a vehicle, ag & construction, is 2500 psi. The hydraulic industry usually considered medium pressure to be 2500 to 4500 psi. High pressure...
