    Cadet 85

Maple Hunter and others sell decals. The rust stains likely won’t come out - most likely in the bottom of the “bathtub” and the gel coat of the fiberglass body is gone. You can prime and prep and repaint as I have done many times. Fiberglass preps a little differently than steel. Mat is better...

    Cadet 85

The manual is correct but sometimes easier said than done. I have found that removing the steering wheel is usually the hardest thing. Similar to regular cub cadet tractors. Search the forum for advice. Time and good penetrant like pb blaster is your friend. You have to remove the tower bolts...

    782 fuel pump

It’s at Gentry correct? Where specifically is the location? Any registration or just show up? I only have Saturday available. April 20 correct?

mowing season starting in the Ozarks. Changeover from the blade to the mower deck. Wish I had enough room for a tractor for each implement!

    75 refurbish

I pulled this 75 out of the shed that I bought in Illinois with a couple 60s a few years ago. It hasn't run in years but has compression and was stored inside. It seems to be in good shape. I am going to try to get it running strong and give it to my son to use on his new home he purchased. I...

    95 electric RER

A little cut and buff, newer non original cub cadet seat tweaked and installed and decals installed. This project is put to bed. Cold and worse weather coming this weekend in the Ozarks. I am anxious to try out the performance of this 50 year old electric cadet rear engine rider in the spring.

    95 electric RER

This is the first time this 95 Electric has run under its own power in at least 30 but probably closer to 40 years. I have some fiddling to do and a little wet sanding and buffing the paint. I have a set of decals from Scott Urschel then it should be done. Quite a journey if you look back on the...

    95 electric RER

finally got back to the 95 electric project. Finished the bodywork on the fiberglass bathtub and shot the IH iron guard white. I should be able to start assembly soon!

    Cadet 85 Special

The model and serial numbers will get your year identified. Post them and or search for the charts that others have posted over the years. Here is a picture of what the bagger looks like as well as my restored model 60 and in progress model 95 electric which should be done this winter.

    Cadet 85 Special

85 special refers to the rear bagger attachment. You have the vertical bars on the rear bumper where the bagger frame slides down to attach. I use one all the time and used the bagger all fall to pick up leaves.

    It ain't pretty but..........

Ha! Now I see it-that’s great!

    It ain't pretty but..........

When I first glanced at your photo, I thought the brute trash can was part of the setup 😀 Next thought was I wonder if that could make it up and down these Ozark hills? I love my restored units and the process, but nothing beats a worker in its original “clothes “. Seat time vs wrenching...

    Cub Cadet 169 Restoration

Your detailing is excellent-very well done! A number of years ago I showed restored Mustangs. We had 500 point restoration guidelines that really helped. For example these parts were body color, these bolts were cadmium plated, these parts had overspray etc. Do similar guidelines exist anywhere...

    782 fuel pump

I tapped into the hour meter wire and added a blade fuse. What is the part # of your O'Reilly pump? I may need to get a lower pressure pump...

    782 fuel pump

I tapped into a wire from the ignition switch that was “hot” only when the key was in the run position. I can’t remember where it went without looking and it is in the back of the shed. I won‘t be able to look until this weekend.

    782 fuel pump

Here is what I used. Mowing season is over so not many hours on it. I hope pressure is not too high.

    Finally! 169 done.

Very nice! It’s always nice to get a project completed.

    782 fuel pump

After a no start condition with no fuel getting to the carburetor, I started looking at old forum questions. Kohler mechanical pumps were pricey and aftermarket parts are iffy. Digger posted a fuel pump from Amazon that he had used. I looked at it and it was $100. I found this one for $25...
