    Deal of the day? 149

Not mine but thought others might be interested after the wife said, but why. You already have a 129. Regardless Log into Facebook

    129 k301 crush washer

Finally figured out where the oil drip was coming from as the plug was loose and the washer is torn. It feels like a hard plastic. Can typical crush washers be used? Any advice would be greatly appreciated

    129 wiring ?

On the 129 while mowing, came to a dead stop. No crank no start. After getting it back to the garage, (never realized how heavy this is) noticed one of the wires from the hr meter was just hanging. Appeared to possibly come out of a crimped quick connect but truly no luck identifying the...

    What was it?

Saw this listed on FB as a cub cadet rat rod that has a k321. Just wanted to get some thoughts as to what is was originally? 128? 147?

    169 ?

So this 169 showed up in Texas on FB but I thought that all 149’s and 169’s all had hydraulics. Clearly not the case or is this possibly some type of ruse? Thoughts?

    Off season deck maintenance

Other than trying ones hand at welding in some patchwork on the 48” deck, is there any general consensus on off season deck maintenance? Just scrape clean as possible with a putty knife? Wire brush or wheel and possibly paint on bare spots? Looks darn good as it is? Any thoughts would be...

    149 ?

Got it. Thank you. Would it possible to add the hydraulic lift apparatus to a 129 or would it be to underpowered for that? Or simply not cost effective rather than opting for a 149 or similar?

    149 ?

Thank you. So let me clarify just a bit. For the snowblower I do have the correct lift rod and for the plow, I’m currently using some braided wire rope. Both work rather well for different purposes and amounts of snow. For either of these front implements however, can the hydraulics of a 149 be...

    149 ?

As I currently have a great 129, have been considering picking up a 149 project as I’m interested in the hydraulic aspect. The 129 manual handle for the mower deck is no issue as once your OK with the height, you no longer need to fiddle with it. Lifting and lowering the plow and snowblower are...

    129 fuel / filter / carb float

Thanks. Yep, that in line filter in the photo was from the local Yamaha dealer for an old 1980 motorcycle. Had an extra so figured why not but as you suggested, it’s not correct and may be from a partially vaccuum actuated system. Would you recommend then just removing the filter entirely and...

    129 fuel / filter / carb float

So the needle then simply recedes by gravity?

    129 fuel / filter / carb float

Thanks. To add/clarify just a bit, it did run as normal but after the initial stall, it would only run for a minute or 2 which is why I was thinking the float/ needle. You raise a very good point though as I did blow air backwards thru the tank and fuel did seem to flow a bit more freely after that.

    129 fuel / filter / carb float

So on the 129 weekly mower, after 30 mins is so it died. Sounds like it’s fuel starved. Previously installed an inline filter as well as replaced the tank valve/filter. This time took off the carb bowl thinking the float may have stuck. Cleaned the float and needle with carb cleaner but thought...

    Winterization ?

Not like the tractor had sat for a long time as a good 10” of the white stuff fell overnight and it was back to work!

    Winterization ?

In southeastern Pennsylvania, the mowing season has finally come to an end and it's time to prep and wait for the snow, if it ever comes. Last year, chains on, blade on and ready to go but nothing plow worthy ever showed. Quite disappointing from that perspective. Regardless, the question is...

    Ball joints and Castle nuts

On the 129, one of the steering ball joints finally gave it up so I’ve been replacing all 4. When you tighten down on the Castle nuts, how much do you really crank down on them? Just tight and then back off so the cotter pin can go through or tighthen them down until it’s not coming off and then...

    Gas tank cap question

On the 129, inadvertently forgot to replace the gas cap one day and left it laying on the engine and then of course mowed it to shreds. Luckily, sort of, It’s the exact same size as a can of Oatey pvc glue. But with a small nail hole punched in the top to breathe, every now and then I’ll get gas...

    Charging / voltage regulator?

Anyone know if there might be an archived thread or troubleshooting process for the voltage regulator / starter generator? The 129 will now only start and run with a jump but won’t restart on its own. New battery installed just a month or so ago so it kinda sounds like a charging issue. Any...

    129 hydro leak?

Just wanted to pass on HUGE thank you as well as a few quick pics (not the best) of the hydro pump gasket change. The FAQ with photos was the absolute best. Nothing like step by step directions with photos and arrows walking you thru the complete process. Of course the worst part of it all was...

    129 hydro leak?

Great. So typically a project that I think should take 4 hrs and $50 ends up taking a week and $300. Should this be a winter project or can it truly be knocked out in a weekend, by ones self of course, and assuming minimal cold snack breaks. 🙂
