    123 Help

Kevin is right. You have to prove where the gas is coming from before you can fix it.Paper towel and patience,Eventually the spot that is wet first is your clue but...it won't leak sitting if your needle valve is sealing and the float is correct when the line is open.Running vibration may make a...

    123 Help

I truly believe all small engines with gravity feed need a shut off.I shut mine off and let them run for at least 2 mins. .If they're done for months I let them run out of gas.No carb issues next start up.

    almost done

THE "CORRECT POLICE" should not look at the pics .I've known about this 122 for over 30 yrs and it sat in a shed. The owner wouldn't part with anything made of metal.(really) He passed a couple of yrs ago and in a conversation with his son I asked about the cub. Before you know it I owned it...

    Gas tank cap question

Not being smart"xxx" but some folks don't know...Without vent tank ends up in vacuum stopping flow of gas, engine runs out.I've had 3 that were plugged by muddobber wasps in the last few yrs.A poke with small nail and back to business. You learn a lot of crazy little things if you stay at it long...

    LT1045 puzzle

Ron,I didn't address the muffler. It's highly likely you will have to fabricate an exhaust pipe because the two engines don't match on exhaust..Surely you know somebody who has some older engines who could spare a muffler.Nope, didn't say it was going to be fun. Just having the B&S ex. manifold...

    LT1045 puzzle

I know of 2 "courage" that have near 400 hrs but they still scare me. Back to the B&S; the main concerns are wiring especially charging system, kill wire, solenoid wire on carb. and the muffler location. If some one with knowledge did the swap you're probably fine. If not you may be chasing.....

    LT1045 puzzle

A lot of experience with 1045 series cubs in the last few years. The Kohler "courage" engine has a nasty habit of coming unglued(thrown rods, cracked case etc) >At one time I had 5 in my junkpile and I'm small town country.I'm so convinced of bad odds I won't own one or sell one.Cub wasn't the...

    Free Cub Cadet 147

If it's bearings they are not difficult to replace.I just replaced all bearings (cone type) in a 38" deck for less than $75. I've redone countless decks (not cubs) and almost never had to replace spindles. It's all about how you take them apart without removing spindles. Most spindles are alum...

Cc 104 cranks but won't start

Not knowing your long term intent....put on new head gasket (after cleaning) tighten moderate not completely( 20#?), then run a compression check. This will tell you the condition of rings and valves...Don't fire engine or it may blow the gasket..If you have 75# plus it should run.If you have...
