Well Gary, here's my latest bright idea. Even though I don't drink the God awful crap they call whiskey, alot of my friends do. So, I had the bright idea of making shot glasses. But I wanted them to look like tiny whiskey barrels, with the inside charred. This is my first one, and it turned out pretty OK I think, for a scrap wood project anyways. What's keeping it water tight?
Whiskey/ wine barrels, like wooden boats usually leak until they see liquid long enough for wood to swell.
It is a nice looking mini barrel

Oops just looked closer. I thought you had individual slats. At second glance it appears you used a lathe. Water tight isn't an issue

Jay, as promised (and everyone else) bird houses and light houses... birds are made out of western cedar that holds up really well outside..The stones are real(placed 1 at a time)local lumber co. carries a concrete patch mix in a tube. That's how they're mounted...note there is no post near hole because it gives aggressive birds a place to set while trying to make hole bigger to get at new babies..just got to stay busy and try new things in the winter.....I'm not fond of whiskey either(medicinal purpose only but I make some awesome apple jack...
