I haven't posted much on here lately, but I read the forum every day. I'm having open heart surgery on Tuesday, 9/27/2022, to replace my aortic valve and bypass 4 blockages (70%, 70%, 60%, and 50%). It's a relatively routine procedure these days, but still serious, so if praying is a part of your life, I'd appreciate you slipping one in for me. If not, any positive, healing thoughts will be appreciated. Thanks.

Hang in there man! You come thru just fine.

We're all out here pullin for ya!

I'm a veteran of open heart surgeries - since 2005 I have endured 4 open heart surgeries with 4 valves replaced and one repaired. It is no joke and best thing you can do is focus on getting your strength and stamina back -- my last one was March 9 th and I am still working on getting back together . Plus last surgery resulted in another surgery where they had to install (inside my heart) a tiny pacemaker --- it works great.

So - to you guys PRAYERS and strength and especially patience send your way. God Bless and guide the surgeons as they work their best.

Glippert - that doesn't sound so routine to me. Routine is checking the oil on your Cub before you use it.
As Charlie says "we're all out here pulling for ya" (including with prayers).

I had a triple bypass surgery done on my Birthday in spring 2014. Took me a while to wake up after the surgery, but one I was awake I walked up several flights of stairs, walked around the floor, bit bigger than a basketball court. A lady came down to my room, explained that NOBODY leaves till SHE says they can leave and I have to pass all of her tests. Biggest problem I had was watching how I opened/closed doors with the automatic door closers, they fractured my sternum to make room to work on me. And because all the nurses were so nice, 4 weeks to the day later I went back in and had a stint replace one of the bypasses. I was just a day or two away from starting my rehab.
I can't work like I did 10, 15, 20 years ago, but I'm 68 yrs old. I shouldn't have to!

I had a stent done at midnight October 21 2008.. one of the scariest times in my life. I'll share some prayers and keep healing thoughts as well.

Hey Greg,
Hang in there buddy.
I had a knee replacement in 2021 and had a bit of anxiety prior to the surgery.
I think you'd be abnormal if you didn't get a little worked up.
I hope all goes well, we'll be looking to hear from you post surgery.
Curt
