On the serial number, 205 means it is a Cub Cadet, the next four numbers 0630 is the model number, and U means it was made in USA, and the remaining numbers are the serial numbers that also gives you the month and year it was built once checked against the chart.. Let me see if I can find it...

Ok thanks so much

It looks like you have a model 1250 built in January 1979...That would be a 12 hp. Also would be considered a quietline model..

Ok thanks what’s the quiet line model? And i feel like I have seen online a 1200 model what’s the difference between the 1200 and 1250

Welcome Jonathan!

Quiet line has side covers, and is intended to have the engine covered to allow proper air flow for engine cooling. 1200 is a 12 hp gear drive. 1250 is a 12hp hydrostatic drive.

Also the reason quietlines had side covers was because suburbia was growing by the late 70s and with homes closer together all tractors were made to be quieter thinking this would help sales.. Also had a larger muffler.. I don't own a quietline but I am shure others who do on here would be glad to fill you in..

Welcome Jonathan!
It would help you a lot to look through the FAQ section. This will answer many questions you may have. ;)
