Getting back into the 60 restoration. Frame is painted, mower deck rebuilt, trans and differential cleaned inspected and reassembled. I have excessive clearance on the exhaust valve. I am waiting on the machine shop to cut the valve seat before I reassemble the Tecumseh.

I'm new to these machines from a technical perspective. That frame looks great, but it's a little 'creamier' than I originally remember (and yes, I realize it's probably just the magic of photography).

Are there paint codes for these things?

For ease of spraying small parts before installation, I am using IH 935 iron guard white in spray cans. There is a semi local Case IH dealer that I drive by when I officiate basketball and volleyball that stocks it and the yellow.
 
They are convenient. Especially if you can swing by and pick them up.
 
Model 60 update. The engine is almost finished. I didn't have the Tecumseh specific timing dial indicator - so I bent a piece of steel strap and used my dial indicator to set the initial static timing at .080 BTDC. Got the exhaust valve seat cut to correct the valve clearance issue. Just have to get the gas tank cleaned up - it's a little rusty and mounts to the three top head bolts. Carburetor is rebuilt and ready to go.

OK so after much blood sweat and tears, the Tecumseh is running well. I am sure Jim will be along soon to chime in! After rebuilding the carb 2x - the second time removing the Welch plugs to access 3 more holes, I still could only get it to run for 5-10 seconds. Frustrated, I remembered the old saying that 90% of carb problems were in the ignition and tore into it again. Turns out the spring tension on replacement points is weak. Compared it to the old original Tecumseh points and filed and reset the original points. Started right up and runs great on the fresh rebuild. Now on to the body. I finally have it in primer-I would rather work on 54 year old steel than 54 year old fiberglass. I had to piece the body using 2 sections off a spare. Fun stuff left now!

Getting closer-50+ year old fiberglass is hard to get real straight. It isn't perfect but I am happy-particularly because the body was in 4 pieces when I started. I use federal yellow iron guard in a rattle can from my local dealer. 7 light coats - I am sure I can cut and buff and make it nicer. I have new blue and white seat upholstery to install and decals.

OK first run today! This 60 is really unique. Right pedal for forward, left pedal reverse. Has 4 speeds forward and 4 speeds reverse🤣Has a parking brake but when in use, you let go of one pedal and push the other to stop. Decals and new seat cover are the two things left. Only took parts from 4 machines to restore!

Good work BKoSK! "Unique" I don't think I could keep all of that straight while trying to mow too.
