Since obtaining my 1440 I believe I would like to change out the snowblower attachment. Little confusing and since I do not have close access to a dealer - thought I would toss out the question of "which snowblower attachment would you be considering" for replacement of my single stage old model (mostly because it is heavy and cumbersome) . I have looked some at the 451 and 19A40024100 however do not know what will actually fit. Anyone that has information, doing it, or suggestions certainly would be helpful. Thoughts welcome!

A 45" wide two stage snow blower model number 190451, most commonly referred to as a model 451.

Thank you tons for this information. I have looked at this model - however I am hoping to take thing a little further -- being 80 it is hard to work somethings and I was hoping to find a lighter weight 2 stage that would be adaptable to the 1440. Am I wasting my time - I know I can install electric lift and auger assemblies? Open for thoughts. Thank you again

The 451 Snowblower will out perform your current single stage blower but im pretty sure it is heavier than the single stage, as far as making something else work i wouldnt even think about doing that ... $$ and time.... i have a 451 on a tractor and its easy as i only use it to blow snow nd never take the blower off. These tractors are old enuff to find quite cheap so maybe pick another 1 or 5 up ?

I'm not as familiar with the cyclops series, yet, as I am with the quitelines, but I would think that you could find a parts machine with hydraulic lift and install on your 1440. Others will know if this is a bolt on process or not. But I can only assume that the hydraulic lift from an 1862 or similar machine would be fairly easy to install. I would think this would be better than an electric actuator, in terms of reliability and strength. Not to mention easier on that little alternator as well. If you find an 1862 or 1864 for parts, you could also take the power steering and put on your 1440.

I believe that in my part of the county - these machines are rather hard to locate in any condition. However long it takes --- I do plan on locating that 451 whether used or new and installing it. Of course - that is just me

1440 has a hydro gear pump that has no ports for hydro lift. They do have a spring assist kit for the 451, you just have to be sure your 1440 has the correct pto for the correct 451 gear ratio.

Yoku have a fairly large GT salvage yard up close to you. Check them out before you go running all over after a thrower. I would stay with the QA thrower as a 2 stage will hang more weight out front further and be harder to lift and steer.

I was unable to locate a GT salvage yard close to me. I finally did locate a nice used 451 two stage blower - now trying to locate the installation kit 190-449 - and the only other question I have unanswered at this time is this: Does this blower buckle right up to the power takeoff on my machine --- or must I figure out another kit to install for this to work?

In answer to weight - from what I can tell there should little or no difference because my single stage has a heavy driveshaft and u joints driving it --- Still listening
