Hello everyone I'm new to this forum and from central Illinois. I was handed down a IH cub cadet 782D from my grandad about 4 years ago and it's been a project every since considering it had sat for countless years. He had a snowblower and a rear tiller for it but left the in Missouri when coming back to Illinois so I did not receive those with the tractor but I would like to get the snowblower attachment for it and from what I've seen on mine is that it is belt driven correct me if I am wrong please. My question is how do I got about finding one I've seen several but there is different models of them and not sure which one fit my specific. How do I go about finding the correct snowblower I've looked for attachment catalogs and have searched all over for any info and have come up short any help would be greatly appreciated. And by the way my name is James I think I forgot to mention that above and apologize thanks in advance

Yes they are they are hard to come by I happen to be very fortunate and grew up around it my whole life and wanted it since I was a little kid and was finally given the okay right before my grandad passed

Sorry to hear you lost your Grand Dad, but you have something he valued highly. Hanging around here you'll learn what you need to keep it in good shape and probably find the attachments you seek too.

Welcome to the group! That's a very fine cub indeed, as you already know. I would imagine that a Haban h42, international qa42a or 450 blower are the ones that will fit, but there are others here that will know for certain, as I am not. That generation of cubs isn't my fortè. But this will narrow down the candidates for now, and give you some options to research until someone comes in that know these cubs better than me.

I didn't see the same question already answered in a different thread.

James, WELCOME!

The H42 or QA36B are the snow throwers that will work without any modifications. The QA42A will fit but will require a different driven pulley, one for a 5/8” belt rather than the 3/8” belt. The QA42A may also require the upper links to be changed out for a set of curved links.

EDIT: As Jay mentioned above the model 450 will also fit without modification. There is also a 48" wide snowthrower, the H48, that will fit without modification.

Hello James, welcome and enjoy the forum.

James:

You still looking for a snow thrower? I've got one, the 42", it was used on a 1452. PM me if interested, I've also got a tiller. They both work, but will need a lot of love. I got them from my Dad years ago. He used them for years and I HAVEN'T used them for years. I'm in northeast Iowa, so not TOO far away from Illinois.

Don
