Hi all.
can someone please tell me the the purpose of this swinging rod on the front frame of my 147.
my guess is …..it’s swings down to lock the mower deck or snowblower or other implements in place.
thanks
Rick

You are correct. It is the quick attach lever. It latches the mower mule drive into place, or the dozer blade undercarriage, or snowblower carriage, etc. There should be a spring to it-I forget where. My narrow frame days were over a decade ago.

The springs clip onto the frame and hold that quick attach lever in place. Which, in turn, holds the mule drive for mower deck, tiller, etc.

Have you tried CC Specialties or R.F. Houtz above?

not yet. I’ll look them up. Being in Canada we have to consider lots of different things than the US members.

our dollar is worth less
a lot of places don’t or won’t ship to Canada
we may get charged additional duty at the border.
may have to have a US credit card or charged additional fees to convert a credit card purchase to USD.

that’s why we like the free tips and advice on this forum.

Well, welcome from a fellow Canuck! I haven't checked if the springs are the same as on the wide frame models, but before this pandemic, I would order from Digger at CC Specialties, to a drop address just across the line, and go pick it up. 3-4 days, 15 miles round trip, $2.50 handling fee, whatever customs duty, compared to 4-5 weeks, detour via Montreal, then customs duty, if shipped to my house. Heh, I like the drive, anyway. So, if you don't live close to the border like I do, find a friend who does . . .👍
