Don't post much if any these days - active with other stuff.

Still check-in from time to time though. Just now seeing Don's passing.

Don T was a great guy IMHO. Had several email exchanges with him. Don made a great forum even better.

RIP

Bill

FWIW: At least 8 months ago Don told me that it was a good time to buy silver. Silver has gone up about $5 an ounce since then. Just saying.

Yes,Don was a great guy, had a few personal emails from him over the years.
PS: One investment company said to buy gold now, it will be worth over $10,000 in a few years!!! Seems Don was a little more accurate.

Every time I log onto this site, I find myself thinking of Donald Tanner. He was such a big part of what welcomed me to this site. He used to get on himself about "one step forward, four steps back," but I find myself imitating him more often than not. Human beings aren't the most efficient creatures, but they are (mostly) passionate. Donald was a very passionate individual, and his enthusiasm was infectious. I miss him, and I think the Forum is the poorer for his passing. I take comfort in that he had a chance to say good-byes and make some preparations before his "home-going" as they say around here. I'm sure there will be kindred spirits to visit this site and lift it as he did, but for me, there will always be only one "Donny Tanner." May he rest in peace and may his widow live in hope.

I agree wholeheartedly with the expressions of sympathy here; Don is so deeply missed by those of us who were blessed to know the man. Don's unique style was loved by all who worked with him, and that style must live on in his memory here.

We worked on a few projects over the years, turbocharging his 1512 project, as well as the cv joint driveshaft adaptations. Don, as you look down from a better place, please know that we think of you often and with admiration.

I haven't been on here in a long time and my heart sank when I saw the news about Don T. Don always tried to help in whatever problems were posted. RIP Don, gonna miss you around here.

One of fellow snowbirds arrived the other day from their summer home in Hebbs Cross.. They didn't know Don, but recognized the family name. They said they go to the Hebbs Cross Fire Hall for meals occasionally (fish fries or pancake breakfasts IIRC) where Don's memorial was held..

I miss him too Frank. I'm reminded every May 9th which is both of our birthdays...born the same year as well. That, as well as this forum (where we both discovered it) and cubs is what brought us together. We had a lot of fun emailing and phone conversations.

I hope all of his cubs found good homes. They had it made while Don was in the picture.

Do you know how Dawn is getting along?

While I haven't started my 149 - 129 hydraulic transplant yet, contemplation of the possibility that the ported charge pump may be worn always brings memories of Don's adventure in rebuilding a pump. Every time someone asks about SG regulator wiring, memories of Don's travails in that area and Digger's frustrations make me smile. Miss ya Don!
