Anyone have one of these? I'm curious to see how it attaches at the front and in the centre. I was looking at the manuals section - didn't realize you could angle the blade from the seat!??

My parents had one, that's where the manual that's in the manuals section came from. The front is the standard QA type attach just like a mower deck sub-frame. The rear uses two brackets (item N in the image below) that bolt on and stay on the frame. The blade sub-frame (item B in the image below) then attaches to the brackets with a rod and hairpin clip.

So I just gotta ask ya Mike, Why do you keep posting in this topic, when none of your post have anything to do with the Allied Catalog?

🤷‍♂️
Where else do I post it?? I don't know what the Allied catalog is - and don't see where else the attachments post? Not doing it annoy anyone.
Should I be posting it in the IH tractor section instead? Figured if it was in wrong spot someone would move them?

In all fairness, the subheading for this area is a bit misleading as it does include "attachments, implements" in the forum description. Allied Equipment would be attachments not made by Cub Cadet but are for Cub Cadets, for example, a Haban sickle mower or a Brinly plow, or a Gannon box scraper.

Mike, I never saw it hooked up either. It sat in the garage unused for over a decade and I sold it back in 2005 for my parents after they replaced the 2072 with a JD X585. They even had the optional hydraulic angle setup for it.

Man, those things are a beast! Could sure handle having one of them on the 982!

So I ended up picking up a QA-42A and a 450 today. QA would be for parts as of now (the bottom of the auger housing is rotted out, oddly enough the cutting edge seems decent from what I can see around the ice on it??) and the 450 so far looks like it will take very little to get it going. Will know more once I hook it up to either the 782 or the 982? Likely easier to use on the 982, even though I know it will steer like a pig. But I only have ag tires on the 982, so that will certainly suck for traction without chains. I couldn't complain about the price on them, so I grabbed them. Still will need to repair my gearbox on the original QA though I'm sure - doubtful the one I got today will be good enough? Have to get a lot of ice off it first to see what is what.

Digger, have you got the description of the threads figured out yet, or you going to push that onto poor Kraig to fix?? :drool2::moon:

Why? Its IH built? At least the QA blower stuff is. You forgetting who builds the stuff you sell parts for? :moon:
The title of the post is "Haban front blade" which not IH built.

But I'll remove all my post on the subject. Mind my own business and scroll along to other post!

Did it come with the drop brackets for the 982?

Yep! There was two blowers there, I took the nicer of the two and then took the brackets off the other one. :errrr: For once I was using my head for more than a hat rack! NOW, if only I could find the correct drive belt for it in my garage!!
Would sure be nice to have power steering, but a 450 on a 982 is a pretty formidable snow moving combo as long as you can get traction. Lift linkage sucks on it, and they weigh a ton, but aside from that, they will move the snow!

Broke the sprocket drive chain on my 353 (3000 series blower) earlier this year, and called the 2084 and 451 into service and it did awesome. Get it running good, and you will want to get rid of that QA :D

Yeah, I had a 450 before and they can eat snow. I sold it this spring with my 1872 and cab (needed the funds unfortunately). Before I bought the 1872 I had it on the 982. Like you say, the steering is not the greatest compared to the power steering of the other supers. I had it on the 782 before that, now that's a beast to turn with it, even with new tri-rib tires I found it hard.

So did you ever have any issues with your 451? I don't know that I have ever seen one around here, so not really sure the exact differences between the two?

I know one thing, if a Haban blade came up for the offering near me - I'd be all over it like a fat kid on a Smarty! Those pictures above, they seem to be a beast to have on a super!

Just the usual stuff. Replaced the scraper, chute and shows this year and previously replaced the idler pulleys on it. Over centered the lift rod and bent it, so heated that up and straightened it this year too. Nothing too serious.

Go through a shear pin or two every year.

451 and 450 are the same aside from the gear ratio since the 451 is designed for the 6” PTO pulley in later cyclops machines and the 450 is designed for the 4.5”.

Haban blades are a beast and can move some serious snow.

They are heavily built, brute strong, and solid....but they are also hard on the lift linkages on SGTs.

I'll post pics of mine installed when I repair the rockshaft damage .

Also, early versions used cradles against the axle housings instead of the frame plates.

Frame plates are also used for 60" Haban deck rear stabilizer bracket.
