    1450 resto

Welcome to the forum Stephen! Good luck with that Quiet-line, I think you'll really like it after you get to spend some quality time with her. You've already got a great start on the accessory's for it too as already mentioned. Some of those are harder to find then the tractors themselves. And...

    Cub 1641 carburetor

Frank - if you disconnect the hose from the carb will fuel flow from it? (You might have to turn engine over if you have a fuel pump) If not then you have an issue before the fuel gets to the carb, could be a bad fuel pump, blocked passage/hose, problem with fuel filter, clogged vent in fuel...

    Early CC tire options?

I'm with spndncash on this one, it is amazing how much more life you can coax out of tire with a tube as long as it's not too bad. and or carrying a lot of weight

    Dual tire pressure

Alan - That makes sense. I just have it stuck in my head as that is definitely something you would never do on a big rig tractor trailer duels. But we are talking about slow moving, not on pavement machines here, so I guess different rules apply for certain applications. Thanks.

Cub 169 no spark after burnt points

Harry - I wondered that too! As I remember some folks didn't like the uni-set, but I did, saved me a bunch of lost condenser bracket screws when trying to install. I think there were some quality issues on some of the less well known brands maybe? One thing some folks might not know is that you...

    K301 leaking oil

Doug - I did not mean something was wrong with the breather. There is a reason why the air pulsates out the dipstick with engine running and it's quite normal, is what I meant. The reason it pulsates has to do with the normal operation of the breather along with piston travel, venting etc. I'm...

    K301 leaking oil

Doug - Leave the dipstick alone when engine is running, not unusual to get pulsations (and sprayed out oil) from it if removed, as you have found already. There is some theory about how the breather works and vent sizes etc that someone else would better explain then I. I'm sure someone else...

Cub 169 no spark after burnt points

Harry - Near as I remember I think they were just called breaker points. AC Delco was a brand for OEM GM parts. Although you might be thinking "uni-set", those had the condenser attached to the point set so you replaced them both as a single unit.

Cub 169 no spark after burnt points

You're in luck, I do still have it! I'll scan it in and post it for you and anyone else who might want to have it. There is a lot of really good info inside it about testing a bunch of old electrical systems and parts.

Cub 169 no spark after burnt points

I do! Went out to the shop and found my good 'old' meter sitting in the same place it has been since last used in the 70's, along with the flex allen hex tool that made life sooo much easier and safer, to do the running adjustment on the GM's. For as good as they worked, (breaker points), I...
