    am i right to say for kohler engines for the manual the front of the engine is the PTO end and the rear of the engine is the flywheel end? have to replace a leaking seal on the PTO end and see it needs to be put in at a certain depth.

    cutting lawn with my 149 and every time in about the same location it back fires loud enough I'm surprised it don't split the muffler. Anyone have any ideas why this is happening? Ignition problem with the coil or condeser?

    What is the deal with removing these balance gears in kohler single engines? I know they come loose and can crack and break the block. What exactly makes the gear come loose? Does it break apart, bearing seizes or comes loose? snap ring wears thru...ect.

    Clark, looks freshly painted. Sure you have good grounds on the condenser and engine to the frame? 12Volts at coil terminal from starter switch?
