    982 Onan engine

Thanks, I removed said components last Friday and scrapped the motor. I already have re-powered it with a 23Hp Vanguard a few years ago. Why keep it on the shelf if you can't really use it anymore?

    982 Onan engine

I'm trying to decide what to do with the Onan engine I took out of my #1 982. It appears there are no rebuild kits for these. Pistons/rods. Should I take off some the parts I would use for my #2 982 ignition stuff, stator, voltage regulator, starter, mufflers and carburetor and scrap the rest...

    MOD. 782

That looks like a nice tractor to me. I'd shell out the money for it. Hopefully it has a deck and that in just as good shape. You can repower it and it would be well worth it!

    Score!

Nice 87! I have an 86 GN myself. Been looking for an 86 T-type or 87 T to compliment it. Unfortunately the ones I see are heavily modified or the wrong color for me. Just don't want another black one for sure. Does that have any heavy modifications?

So a friend sent me a text..

Rims were powder coated and new 4ply Turf Master tires mounted. Next I'm working on getting Kirk Engine's balance plate installed and then have the engine block bored .010" over and the crank pin ground .010" under.

So a friend sent me a text..

I had emailed Rob Houtz to see if he was willing to cut out a nub for the lift handle if he had a frame laying around. He said there is a part # for that and he could get me a new one and it was listed under the frame section. Sure enough he pulled through. The part # is 711-3009; Hub, Lift...

So a friend sent me a text..

I did get a wire harness from a 682 with the same serial number series. Emailed Porch Electric and told them I had one and could send both harnesses to them. They can use my provided 682 harness and copy that for that particular serial number and they could then sell new harnesses for that...

    K301 rebuild

3rd page 9th post down. Matts link. If you set the gap to .020" and it is still running good at idle but not with more throttle reset to .018" I found .020" on some of mine makes it run good at idle but misses and back fires when when I give it more throttle. Setting to .018" solved my...

    K301 rebuild

Tim, follow Matt's instruction's if you haven't already. If it still does the same thing, try gapping to .018" instead of .020" See if that helps. Also, make sure the point contacts are clean use some electrical cleaner, but be careful with the cleaner as it will eat paint.

    Mystery part

I've been there and done that. :bash: But it gets sickening moving this stuff around all the time if its not a Cub part might as well let it go.

    Finally! 169 done.

If yours is there; please feel free to post a few pictures of it and how it is connected. Mine was missing. I could not find a wiring diagram or any pictures on the net on how it hooks up, what size wire or color was used. I used 14 ga wire I had and used an inline fuse with an eye terminal...
