1512D Spiral pin on driveshaft keeps fallling out. What should I do?

I'll vote for the safety wire. Never seen one fail that way.

    1512D not running right

I found this necro thread, and I've done the fuel petcock filter clean several times. Looks like I'm due to do it again....sigh. Off comes the seat fenders, etc...again! I usually find a glob of slime around the filter that's in the tank. I wonder if there's a way to avoid this?

Chris, that's a really fantastic setup. I wonder how many of those are still complete, and more rare still, running? It's really neat to see John

Starter / Gens have a polarity that can be "set" with momentary jumpering. Perhaps that's why there's multiple posts involving "backards" units. If the ammeter is reading upscale when it should be reading downscale, reversing the two wires at the back of the gauge will fix it.

The best way is ask a kid to do them for you :-) Otherwise, you can use a utility like IRFANVIEW (a free download) or you can send the photo to me and I'll shrink it and get it right back to you. John

Got some time to clean the O up a bit...there's actually a tractor under all the moss and grease. Still has the orig. carb and oil bath cleaner, and everything seems to be there. It had one of those "anti-foul" spark plug extensions, so I'm sure it's well worn, but it should be an interesting...

Well, the first order of business on the Scruffy O was to remove the german Hella driving lights. I know how easy it is to overdrive one's stock lights with that brutishly powerful 7 horse Kohler!!

Well, the Cub addiction has bitten hard. Here's a scruffy "O" that followed me home yesterday. I think it's saveable if there's no rod poking thru the block, but man oh man it's had a life!

Tonights dinner time conversation: "Yes hon, I know I just bought the first Cub 3 weeks ago, but this Original is not too far away , and the price is affordable, and at least it's not a boat...."
