    Welcome !

I like her already too. She's not afraid to use big words, like astounded.

I appreciate the help with the air cleaner but I already found one. Oreily's could get me a Wix but it would be 22 bucks! Autozone couldn't even find it. NAPA was closed. (This was Memorial Day.) Went back to Farm and Fleet on Tuesday and Looked at the Fram shelf. Only one labeled lawn and...

Grrrr, I'm not happy. Needed a new air filter for my 1250. Went to Farm and Fleet and they have a Kohler branded filter that says it's for Magnum 8 HP and K241-K321 10-14 HP engines. Kohler Part Number 25 883 03 S1. It's too small diameter and taller than my filthy one. Can't go back until...

Steering column question. Can it be removed from a 1250 with hydraulic lift without removing the engine? I Think if I remove the fuel tank and the hood support I can get my hands in to unbolt things. Looks like I'll have to remove the deck and undercarriage though. Steering wheel is already loose.

Richard W. Does the front pto actuate? Turn the key to on and turn on the pto. You should hear it click. Ed. As others have mentioned, do the iso mount modification. I just took apart a 1250 and all 4 engine mount bolts were missing. All, from some posts I deduce you put in the iso mount...

Harry, Charlie, I grabbed a handy 3/8 bolt (one of the ISO mount bolts) and it threads into the oil pan 3/4 of an inch. The ISO rails are 1/4 inch thick. A 1.0 inch long bolt may work with a lock washer. I'm going to try to source a 7/8 long bolt just to be safe. McMaster Carr has them in packs...

My 1250 has so much power it shook the mount bolts right out of the oil pan. I've looked in parts lookup and I can't find them on either the engine mounting parts page or the engine page. It's the 4 bolts that go up through the engine mounting rails into the oil pan. I need to know what length...

If you think you have a problem, don't procrastinate. I thought I just had an oil leak from the pan of my 1250. For the last two years I just filled it up and used it. Today I started to tear into it. Took the hood off. Took the muffler off. Took off the front grill. Pulled the valve off the gas...

    IHC Hotrod

Wow, with the tractor front on it, it looks like it's ready to eat what ever gets in fron of it.

This winter my 1250 wouldn't run at more than an idle. Rev it up and it would just die out after a minute or so. As it warmed up it got worse. Put new points, condenser, spark plug, sparkplug helicoil , and coil with no improvement. I figured must be a sticking valve. Sooo, yesterday I took off...

    Bachtold mower

I bought a Bachtold mower at an auction. Anyone else experienced in the maintenance of these? Are the bearings in the blade shaft sealed or are they greasable? I don't see any grease zerks anywhere. I got the carb rebuilt that I referenced in a previouis thread. Started on the third pull!

    Carb cleaner

Does anyone else have problems geting a whole carb in the one gallon can kits? Granted the one I'm working one is of a B&S 7 horse engine and the carb seems bigger than the one one my 1250. I'll have to do this one in stages.

    1110 hydro PTO

If you go here MTD Manuals you might be able to get an operators manual. Do you engage the deck with the engine at full rpm's? I think the newer ones suggest that in the manuals. Also check the belts are on right. I was using our churches 2165 and thought it was working awful hard. Looked...

Kevin D and Paul P, According to my cc dealer the lower pulley for the 7/16 width belt is no longer available. Question for X82 series experts. Did the 12182 have a single cylinder Kohler with the 5/8 wide belt on on the electric clutch? Maybe we could convert the older ones to that and...
