    QA42 snow blower sprocket assemble

The shaft on the sprocket assemble is worn and has to be replaced. Is there an easy way to take it apart to replace all of the parts. I am assuming the everything has to be replaced. Any comments greatly appreciated. Earl LaMott

    Motor oil

I have a 129 and I use a straight 30 for the summer and for the winter I use a 5-30. My question is: a straight weight oil was always recommended, which I have been doing. Is it still suggested to use a straight weight, if so can someone tell me why. Just curious. Earl LaMott

Starting your cub in COLD weather.

I had a 129 that would not start when it was cold. I tried thin oil, and a magnetic heater and still had a problem. Then I went to the S/g and took it apart and found that on some of the windings, the wire insulation was gone. I purchased a new s/g from Charlie and my problems were gone. Did not...

    Hoods and the constant rattle

I also used door hinges. Mine are from an outside door that I replaced. A nice thing is that they are solid and when you want to remove the hood, you just tap out the pins. No screws to deal with. Earl L

    Rock Shaft confusion , 782

Proess;er: Thank you for the comment. How did you get the pin inside the frame on the right side (as you are sitting on the seat) out? Is there room from the bottom? I haven't crawled under the and looked yet. Was it a tough job getting the pin out. There can't be much room to work. Thank you...

    Rock Shaft confusion , 782

dschwandt: I am not talking about the float lock out pin. I talking about the pin that locks the right and left arm assembly to the rock shaft. Both sides are locked in with a pin. How do you get to the pins? Earl L

    Rock Shaft confusion , 782

I have posted 2 pictures to try to explain better what I am asking. The first picture is on the outside of the frame which the snow blower attaches to and this pin I replaced last fall. The second picture is the rockshaft on the inside of the frame, and this is the one that I am wondering how to...

    Rock shaft lift assembly

I have a question regarding the left side assembly that is inside the frame of the rock shaft lift assembly. I replaced the one outside of the frame late last fall and was thinking that I should replace the inside one this summer. It is not broken now but I would sooner do it in the summer...

    QA42A Snowthrower Refurbish

I have a question on the roll pin that is in the sprocket wheel on the drive shaft of the QA 42A snow blower. There are roll pins that are really a double walled pin and a tension pin that is a single walled pin. I always considered these to be shear pins but looking at the strength of the roll...

Coiled pins. glippert: I just had the same misfortune of breaking the coil pin on the small chain drive sprocket on the transfer shaft. I fought with it for a while then I took a small drill bit to try to align the pin. I think that I got lucky in that the broken part of the pin got stuck on...
