Johnny S. Yikes, I guess you have bigger problems than a couple relief valves. Drill the hole in the button end that you pushed down to start this whole problem in the first place. Make sure the valves are soaking in something. (I used Liquid Wrench.) I may have even just used a sheet metal...

Hey Johnny S, I had the same problem when I first started working on my 1650. I ended up drilling a hole in the top button and tapping it to accept a screw, then pulled out the button after installing a screw. Those buggers new are about $100 each.

Richard C: Your excellent pics of the underside of a QL led me to upgrade the linkage in my EARLY, not late, 1650. I installed the upper ball joint connection with self-locking nuts. I hope I never have to take them off! I already performed the trunion plate weld repair and new springs. I...

Richard C, Thanks for your reply and the great pictures. I do not have the upper two ball joints. I have a piece of rod bent in the shape of a "C". That is where all the slop is. I take it there is a short piece of threaded rod between the two ball joints. If the ball joints are the same...

Howdy folks, Changing the subject--my local CC dear (45?) years said the problem with my 1650 hydro is all in the shift linkage. He said the hydros never wear out. What do you guys think? I already welded the trunion plate. I had a Kohler dealer tell me he has not had good luck with K341...

Lurka, lurka, lurka, Lurker for almost 2 years, occasional poster: 1)I want to convert my 44A deck on my 1650 to the "higher speed pulley" option. What do I need to do? 2) Did all the 1650 K341's come without balance gears? Sorry I don't live in the midwest, but I used to visit Southern...

Kenny, I was at Zagray's on Sunday, I guess I missed the Porsche tractor. I have an '83 Porsche 944, which is my main ride right now. It was amazing to see a working dragline and a power shovel, though. That place is a real toy store. My wife loved it as much as I did, bless her heart. Can...
