    PTO Clutch set screws

Agree. I think they are trying to price our tractors to the junk yard.

    PTO Clutch set screws

Maybe I am looking at the part number wrong. I was assuming quantity of 1 for $15.24 . Even that price for 3 is high to me.

    PTO Clutch set screws

Lots of good posts on removing the PTO clutch, but did not see any mentioning the screws. The pointed set screws for the PTO manual clutch are getting out of site in price. I did find some on McMaster-Carr, but they are not completely pointed. Has anyone used them or made their own. I am not...

    Rear Deck Anti-Scalp Roller

    Thanks also to Steve Blunier.

    Rear Deck Anti-Scalp Roller

Here are some more photos of one mounted inside. I could not do an inside because of the blade configuration.

    Rear Deck Anti-Scalp Roller

Well I won't know until next mowing season how well it will work. You could make a bracket like the one used on the front anti-scalp wheels where there are two rows of holes giving 1/2" adjustments. Thing you need to watch at least on my 147 is the hydro. Where mine is currently it is close...

    Rear Deck Anti-Scalp Roller

Here is one photo showing what Steve Blunier did.

    Rear Deck Anti-Scalp Roller

OK, here is what I have now. Bottom of roller is 1/4" below the blade. Steve Blunier is a good authority on here for deck info. He did one where the centerline of the shaft is at the blade. I would need to drop another 3/4" to equal his, which I plan on doing.

I will take some photos tomorrow and post.

    Rear Deck Anti-Scalp Roller

Years back several people on here installed a rear anti-scalp roller on their mower decks. I added one to my 48" deck on my 147. I positioned it so the bottom of the roller is the same distance below the blade in the back as the one in the front. Anyone install theirs any lower? Thinking of...

    QA42A Snowthrower Refurbish

I do that with mine and I do think it helps. Think about it. The engine is blowing all that hot air right on the discharge chute of the thrower, why wouldn't it cause a problem. I use the graphite paint too.

Remove and Replace Drive Shaft on 127 Cub Cadet

I think the write up on how to do it was on this site some years ago and it was something I saved on my PC. Shaft alignment is more critical with the old setup.

Remove and Replace Drive Shaft on 127 Cub Cadet

I converted my 147 to the later rag joint coupler. No more worries about pins or the slot in the front coupler wearing.

    Cork Gasket Sealant

They have improved the cork gasket by adding some type of rubber. I buy rubber impregnated fuel bowel and gas cap gaskets from Peterson and they work great. When I did my 147 hydro gasket I used a neoprene gasket that that I got years ago from a forum member who was making them at the time.

    42" cast iron end deck

I have a 42" deck that I use for leaf mulching in the fall. The pain of always needing to level it because of the hanger eyebolts has me wondering. Has anyone replaced those eyebolts by drilling out the holes in the deck to accomadate the loop style hangers used in the quick attach decks? I...
