    Don't hate me...I have a new LOVE!

very nice 140, and what a steal on that 318. unlike some people i respect all old garden tractors, i have a 1971 john deere 112 parked next to my cub cadet 147 in my garage, and im getting rid of neither. i dont care for anything produced after 1992 when jd discontinued the 318. now everything...

im transferring deck hardware from a 48" rev.2 deck to a 48" rev 3 deck. i bought a NOS 48" deck pan, at the time i bought the deck pan i didnt know there were 3 revisions of 48" deck pans on narrow frame cub cadets. looking at the parts diagrams on parts-tree i see that the revision 3 decks did...

my stepfather just brought home a 149. he got the tractor, a qa-42 blower, and a 50 deck for 625. the tractor has hydraulic lift and the k321 runs fairly well. it smokes a little but not a whole lot, i told my stepfather that it will run like that for years. the deck is in fair condition, not...

i installed a new seat today, bought brand new from the local dealer. its not original seat but then again it wasnt 160 bucks. it came to 78 after taxes. its quite comfortable and makes driving the tractor allot more enjoyable. the seat that came with machine was so bad that it was it was...

the qa42's performance on my hydro 147 is purely awesome. i love the control that the hydrostatic transmission allows. find the ground speed where the engine has a good load, but is not overloaded and it will walk through just about anything.

right now with winter in full swing still i have a qa42 mounted on the tractor. i have removed quite a bit of snow so far which is how i know that it has plenty of power. i have loaded it down on more than 1 occasion and it performs with plenty of guts. as far as the oil come out of the...

i noticed on my rebuilt engine that im getting a small amount of oil around the breather. its not pouring out but it is noticeable. is this normal? i also notice that the engine smokes a little at startup, well it could be condensation coming out of the exhaust when it is cold, not too sure on...

it is possible to port hydraulic pressure from the hydrostatic transmission on my 147? how is this done and how much would such a conversion cost. someday i might go that route, especially if i add a tiller. the snow blower even seems like it works that lift really hard, although it does work. i...

i wondered if anyone has converted the 147 over to manual or some form of hydraulic lift? i have the electric lift on the machine. while it does work, it has some sort of non-factory setup. looks like someone might have installed a lift off a jd140? its not what belongs on my tractor. it works...

so, if it works should i leave that terminal disconnected. it seems to work fine with the ammeter showing a high charge at first and then the needle drops back down to a slow charge after it has been running for a minute or so. the 147 service manual also shows that terminal underneath the...

the funny thing is, that wire underneath the regulator was hooked up to the starting circuit of the starter generator all along. when i ran new wires, i traced out what i could, and that wire did go to that terminal. i know what the wiring diagram said, but what i had was not set up that way...

i rewired the 147. some purists wouldnt like it, i didnt use all original wire colors, i probably used 3 or 5 different colors. i didnt rewire the lift circuit or the headlight yet, but its on the list of things to do. i have an uncle that always has wire laying around so i paid him a visit. i...
