Blower won't lift like it did the other day??? Might as well say it isn't lifting.

What am I looking for when this happens??

Hytrans is up to proper level
Lift rod is attached at both ends as it was earlier in winter
Lift straps on blower are all attached as should be
Hyd cylinder goes up and down as it should, will lift blower like 1/4"
Can see the arms for mower deck hook up move up and down as usual.
Rock shaft is moving, its not broke from whatbi can tell

Mike, if I recall, that uses a push to lift setup, if the blower is allowed to drop below a certain point, for example off the edge of a raised paved driveway, the lift assembly can bend when it tries to lift. Art Aytay may have posted about this with his 2072 with 450 blower. I will see if I can find his posts.

Well, I now see the problem! So how doni get the rock shaft out easily!!
You can see a little line where either weldnis broke, just sobahppen ingot it just about back in the correct spot. Hard to see originally.

Yep, I see the crack. Might be best to weld it in situ, it looks like there might be enough room to get in there to work on it.

Is it okay to weld on the tractor with the engine in it? I always wondered what welding does to the electrical on a tractor?? I finally found Mr Plow Steve Blunier's fix for his..... NOT really wanting to get into that mess in the middle of winter. That looks like a royal PIA to get out!!!

Yikes!

I like your idea Kraig. weld it where it is! Not sure what I did to break it? Only place I could think of is when I go down the hill off my septic bed? I went down it today instead of going up it like normal only because of the direction of the wind.

Just unhook the battery and slag weld that sucker up.

When welding on a vehicle or equipment, I always grind off a good grounding point for the work lead. In this case on the blower itself not the tractor.

Should there be a roll in in that hole?? Thats on the far right of tractor.

Well I got it to lift correctly now. Finished welding it up and made some other adjustments including the lift arm. I can get it about 2-1/2" off the ground now. Tried it out and it seems to work okay on different parts of the yard and the drive way. I tried blowing up the hill I have and it worked fine going over the top. Didn't seem to bottom out or anything? Lets hope this is all I need to do to it and I'm set for the rest of the winter.

Fyi regarding welding. What you don't want to do is have the current path go through bearings.

I've seen where ppl that welded rock shafts in their tractors also installed a Spring Asst. to keep added pressure off the repaired shaft. Years ago I bought an 1811 w/ rear lift and spring asst. for parts and didn't think much about it till I started tearing it down. Why does this thing have a spring asst.? Ohh! It was still welded and not cracked. You might want to give it a try as an insurance policy?

Anyone break their rock shaft and have to remove it? What did to do in order to narrow it down to broken? Mine is back to not lifting again 🤬🤬🤬🤬
Looking like I need to strip down and find out the issues.

I take that back.... the shaft isn't broke, I can see it moving fine inside the bushings of the deck lift tabs. It has to be the blower. Something bent and not allowing it to lift??? 🤦‍♂️
