Had a friend give me a hydraulic 782 IH 1982 with a 44C deck !!! Had leaks, vibration when running and the deck drive clutch locked up !!! And no one here in town would work on it ??? Replaced starter, drive shaft bushings, trans oil and filter, clutch bearing, engine oil and filter and tuned it up needed deck mule re-bearinged also need, a hood ornament !!!! Mark Evans

one of the previous owners made one for my 782 out of wood. It appears to possibly have been a scrap of deck lumber. I think it adds to the character, but mine is definitely a character. Yours may be more of a looker.

I think I may craft my own wooden hood ornament from a better wood species before I install a correct one.

I got one for my 782 off ebay - 3-D printed one. Wasn't perfectly smooth but after a coat or two of black paint it look good.
 
The same hood ornament can also be found on the Cub Lawn Tractors such as the 1320 and 1720. There are tons of them out there with bad transaxles. Also, the low back seats, ammeter, some switches, and rear reflectors interchange with the garden tractors.

It came to me with the tractor. It was not my idea, but I kinda think I may continue it by making another out of a more close-grained wood that should weather better.
 
Mark - if you were asking me my price, it's not for sale. I was just posting the picture for reference, so you know what to look for. Sorry for the confusion.
