Its an assembly, the brace is an Integral part of the welded hood and would not be a part that was serviced.
Should be easy enough to reproduce.
I can get some measurements tomorrow if it would help.

Overall width, outside to outside is 13-3/4"
Mat'l is 1 x 1/8" flat or better yet 10 Ga cut to 1"
You will need a piece 16+ inches long.
Rear edge of flat to end of hood 5/8"
Bottom edge of X member to bottom edge of hood 1"
Short bend is 1-1/8"
Hood should rest on bumpers and not touch the cowl for obvious reasons as you have seen.
Slotted holes in the upper firewall piece allow for vertical adjustment.
The brace can be plug welded through the existing holes I would think.

i looked on a tablet and did not know what that was, now i see much better open on the computer screen. i can make that no problem thanks for your help.
It's your tractor, do as you see fit. You don't have to please anyone here... just you! If it's a worker and you just want a color change, go for it.

Next project while wait parts. Is electric. What is best way to access under the dash panel behind amp meter etc. All my harness are untouched and not cut, just disconected for some reason going back to tail lights. Headlights were removed but in a box. I do build buses for living and do all the wireing so i know i can make it work.

FORGET LAST POST i just went back and saw it all open behind tank so i removed tank, for some reason i thought it was all in closed when i typed the post

Now I finally see how the springs work as a latch. I will post this series of pictures along with the pic of the bracket just before this post.

Here is a pic the spring not locked up or rest on the mount. I try to use a flash but here it not look as clear. Try zoom to see better.

I'm a Newbie and am loving this website and all that it will teach me about my new-to-me IH Cub Cadet 169. However, earlier in this thread it is stated that the 169 model designation in a serial number is "49". Meanwhile there are other posts on the site that indicate that designation to be "48" which is what mine is and I'm pretty sure my tractor is actually a 169 model. Would someone out there help with getting this clarified? Thanks and I'm looking forward to getting involved.
