If you refer to my previous post about my PTO cutting out after cutting grass for 45 minutes or so, I have put off buying a new battery until I got around to going to my dealer to check other stuff out before having a new one installed. I have cut my grass a few times since with no issues. I have had the battery on a slow charger. I want to further cut the grass in a rather large field (already cut down with a large tractor and a bush hog) and I want the dealer to make sure the spiral pins in the driveshaft and the air gap in the PTO are set correctly.

On to my issue. I started the mower without any issues, in fact, it started right up. I went to engage the PTO and NOTHING. I opened the hood and found the tubing represented in the picture that I attached, NOT connected at the top of the engine. I have looked in my Kubota book, and don't see the purpose of that tubing. I know someone here will know what it is for. I have tried to reattach it, but it seems to be kind of a loose fit and will most likely fall off again with the vibration of running.
I am bringing the tractor in on Monday to hopefully have them check out the items I have mentioned above (PTO air gap, Spiral pins, that have a tendency of falling out at the most inappropriate times, and possibly replacing the fuel filter). I know I can do the last thing myself but figured if it is there, they could do it for me.

Thank you again in advance.

Breather tube. Keeps blow by oil from running down the side of the engine.

Thank you guys.
I'm hoping my issue with the PTO not engaging isn't the PTO itself.
Just in case I need a new PTO, how do i know which one it is?
Digger, I see 2 different PTO's listed in your product page that specify 1512. They are priced at $245 & $500+.
Is the only difference that one is Warmer branded and the other is a just one that isn't Warner? My dealer is pretty honest but I don't mind saving money if there really isn't a difference. I would consider getting one from you if I need one.

Buy local if ya can! The Extreme clutches are far better than OEM, bolt and go and no adjusting the air gap. (y)

Thank you. Luckily, when I tried the PTO again a few hours after posting my question, the PTO worked fine. I am guessing it may eventually go but I appreciate your suggestion on the Xtreme clutch. I did a quick search and saw that the $245 one you had was the Xtreme (no E). If it goes, I may try to replace it myself if I can find a good repair manual with step by step instructions on how to do it.

You don't need a manual to change the PTO out. Unbolt your old one, add the stop bracket, tighten up the center bolt, plug it in and your done. (y)

My 1782 clutch went bad I chose to go with the extreme clutch. No air gap to worry about. All directions are included. Just go by the directions on breaking it in.
