Looking for a good usable Kohler KT-17 Series II engine for a 782. Prefer running but will consider those needing rebuild. Willing to consider later derivatives as well. Let me know what you have.

No, 782's had I & II's.

I guess you could say that. What I mean is repower with a modern OHV engine. Like a Vanguard, Command, Honda, Predator...

Ya I knew they had 1 and 2 kts, guess a repower meant to me at least another engine regardless of if it was the original or something else. But I don't think like some people!

Personally I tend to shy away from something that has an engine replaced with other than a kohler if im looking to buy a cub...I could go along with a magnum or command swap tho I guess if one is handy for the right price. But perhaps he prefers the kt for some reason.

My favorite is Kohler too for hydraulic lifters and then Briggs for cost savings !!!! The Ol kiss rule creep it simple !!!!!

The KT17 Series I were installed at the factory in Chassis Serial Numbers below 726124.

The KT17 Series II were installed at the factory in Chassis Serial Numbers above 726125.
