My cub Original is gettin real hot, I was wondering if anyone could think of why it would be overheating so bad, and if maybe I could put something aftermarket on it. Thanks
 
Maybe blow out around under the shrouds with a compressor? Quickest thing to eliminate and free. I'd do it outside and stand up wind. If anything is there it'll come out in a cloud of mess

My first thought, what does real hot mean? After cutting grass on a hot Summer day I would describe my CC as seeming real hot. If all previous suggestions have been checked and are ok then it may only be normal operating temperature for an air-cooled engine. Without an actual temp from a gauge or a heat sensor gun I don't know how anyone would know for sure if any air-cooled engine is running too hot unless it gets very sluggish or suddenly stops, then you probably have major engine damage.
 
JD,I've had many people tell me their engine was running hot ,I always ask "how do you know?"99% answer "because I can smell it" Upon investigation it usually ends up being being an oil leak somewhere near a muffler or manifold,especially on engines with valve covers over muffler/exhaust pipe..
